Hossam Hassan under scrutiny from FIFA following Egypt’s defeat by Argentina at the 2026 World Cup

The manager of the Egyptian Pharaohs could face disciplinary action.
Hossam Hassan is accused of behaving inappropriately during the round of 16 match between Egypt and Argentina. The Egyptian manager is alleged to have made abusive remarks towards match officials.
Hossam Hassan is also under scrutiny for a gesture deemed controversial, after crossing his hands in the direction of the referees. His alleged inability to control members of his coaching staff in the technical area is also said to be a factor held against the Egypt Pharaohs’ manager.
According to reports, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee is reviewing the full case file on the incidents before reaching a decision.
