Hossam Hassan remains Egypt’s head coach until 2030

Egyptian Football Association has announced the extension of the Pharaohs’ head coach’s contract following a historic run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Having taken charge of the Egyptian national team’s coaching staff in February 2024, replacing the Portuguese Rui Vitoria, Hossam Hassan quickly made his mark. Under his leadership, Mohamed Salah and his team-mates enjoyed an unprecedented campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which was hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.

Egypt secured their first-ever victory in the tournament’s history, before reaching the round of 16. This run convinced the leaders of Egyptian Football Association to renew their confidence in Hossam Hassan.

The Egyptian manager’s contract has been extended until 2030. Hossam Hassan’s new contract therefore covers the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. He will lead the Pharaohs through the qualifying rounds of both competitions.
