Honoring a legend. Neymar acquires Pele brand for $18 million

Santos forward Neymar has become the owner of the rights to the legendary Pele brand.

Details: According to UOL, the purchase was finalized through NR Sports, a company owned by his father. The deal is valued at $18 million (approximately 9.5 billion tenge). The package includes the rights to use Pele's name and likeness, merchandise licensing, access to historical archives, and other commercial assets associated with the three-time world champion.

Neymar's company had previously shown its respect for the legacy of the "King of Football": it was the driving force behind the renovation of Pele's VIP box at Vila Belmiro stadium, where new seats were installed, along with upgraded restroom facilities and air conditioning.

It is reported that the official announcement of the acquisition is expected on November 19, coinciding with the anniversary of Pele's 1000th goal.
