Norwich City could be about to add a Hollywood A-lister to the boardroom: Hugh Jackman is in talks to buy a stake in the Championship club.

Details: The actor has revealed he is currently negotiating with the Canaries' board to purchase shares. Jackman has supported Norwich since childhood: his mother was born and raised in the city, and he made his first trip to Carrow Road at 16.

The story has been fifteen years in the making. Back in 2011, celebrity supporters Delia Smith and Stephen Fry wrote to Jackman offering him the chance to become a celebrity investor, an offer he turned down and has publicly regretted ever since, calling it one of his big mistakes. In 2021 he joked about buying the club just to set up a rivalry with Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham, and that fantasy is now edging toward reality, with a Premier League push the stated dream. Norwich fans have long embraced their most famous supporter, unfurling a giant Wolverine tifo last season, and if the talks succeed, English football's celebrity ownership era will gain its biggest name yet.

It's worth noting that Jackman also follows the Philadelphia Union in MLS, but Norwich has always been his first football love thanks to his Norfolk roots.
