Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record among European footballers for the number of major tournaments in which he has scored for his national team.
Details: In the second group stage match of the 2026 World Cup against Uzbekistan, Portugal cruised to a 5-0 victory, with Ronaldo bagging a brace and being named man of the match.
This World Cup has become the 11th major international tournament where Cristiano has found the net for Portugal.
With this achievement, Ronaldo stands alone at the top among Europeans, well ahead of his closest rivals.
Second place is shared by Jürgen Klinsmann, Miroslav Klose, and Xherdan Shaqiri—each of whom has scored at six World Cup or Euro tournaments.
Reminder: Earlier it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo officially becomes Portugal's all-time top scorer at World Cups
