History Made as Achraf Hakimi Finishes 13th in 2026 Ballon d’Or Rankings

Morocco international Achraf Hakimi finished 13th in the 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings after an impressive season with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), dropping seven places from his career-best sixth-place finish in 2025.

Despite the drop, Hakimi made history by becoming the first African defender to finish inside the Ballon d’Or top 15.

The PSG right-back enjoyed a productive 2025-2026 campaign, recording four goals and 17 assists in 49 appearances. His performances also helped the French club secure the Ligue 1 title, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.

Hakimi also featured for Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Atlas Lions reached the quarter-finals.
