History! Exactly 10 years ago, Kylian Mbappé made his professional football debut
A landmark day for one of the brightest stars in French football.
Details: On this day, December 2, 2016, the 16-year-old French prodigy—then still at Monaco—stepped onto the pitch for his first ever professional Ligue 1 match against Caen, playing just two minutes.
Monaco couldn’t beat Caen that day, but as history would show, the real victory for the Monegasques had already occurred that evening.
Since then, Mbappé played 60 matches for Monaco, netting 27 goals and providing 16 assists.
In the summer of 2018, Mbappé made a blockbuster €180 million move to PSG. There, he featured in 308 matches, racking up 256 goals and 110 assists.
Last summer, Mbappé joined Real Madrid as a free agent. So far, he has played 78 matches for Los Blancos, scoring 67 goals and delivering 8 assists.
Monaco's then-coach Leonardo Jardim recalled:
"From the very first training session, it was clear that Mbappé was no ordinary talent. He learned faster than any player I have ever coached."
And time and again, we’ve seen that Mbappé is a true diamond in the world of football.
Reminder: "Not the result." Kylian Mbappé comments on Real Madrid’s latest match
