Kevin Durant continues to rewrite basketball history. The Houston Rockets forward has become just the eighth player in NBA history to surpass the 31,000 career points mark.
Durant achieved this feat in a game against his former team, the Phoenix Suns, pushing his career total to 31,024 points and further cementing his place among the top 10 scorers of all time.
Durant remains eighth on the all-time scoring list, but this season he could surpass Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) and Dirk Nowitzki (31,560), and perhaps even close in on Michael Jordan (32,292).
"When you come into the league, these guys are your heroes. Their achievements seem out of reach. But you follow your own path, put in the work—and one day, you find yourself mentioned alongside them," Durant said.
