On Sunday, August 4, the final of the women's doubles tennis tournament at the Paris Olympics took place.

In the final match, Italian tennis players Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani faced off against Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider, who were competing under a neutral status.

The Italian duo secured the victory over 1 hour and 25 minutes with scores of 2-6, 6-1, 10-7.

Earlier, the bronze medal match in women's doubles saw the Spanish pair Cristina Bucsa and Sara Sorribes Tormo win against Karolína Muchová and Linda Nosková from the Czech Republic.

This is Italy's first gold medal in tennis at the Olympics.
