Turkish giants Fenerbahce could pull off one of the biggest coaching moves of the summer. According to Turkish and Italian media reports, the Istanbul club is working on bringing in former Napoli boss Antonio Conte.

The future direction of Fenerbahce largely hinges on the upcoming presidential elections. One of the candidates for club president, Hakan Safi, has already made a series of ambitious promises and is said to have held talks with Conte. Moreover, the parties have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement to cooperate should Safi win the election.

Interestingly, Italian football legend Paolo Maldini is said to be working alongside Safi on the club’s future project, with Maldini being lined up for the role of technical director.

Let’s not forget, Conte remains one of the most sought-after coaches in Europe. Over his career, he has won Serie A titles with Juventus, Inter, and Napoli, and also led Chelsea to Premier League glory.
