The head of Matchroom's promotional company, Eddie Hearn, commented on the future plans of former two-division world champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs).

"At the moment, it's likely that everyone will be calling for a Haney rematch with Ryan. But that won’t happen until at least the middle of next year.

What will you do until then? Will you continue in the super lightweight division? Or will you move up to welterweight? It's important to choose the right fight. Devin still wants a lot of money for a fight. He's earned a lot, but now it's a situation where you really have to want it.

I'm not saying you won't see Devin Haney in the ring, but I don't think he's in a hurry to return," said Hearn.

In April, Haney lost to Ryan Garcia. The fight was marred by controversy due to Ryan's positive doping test.

Garcia has been officially suspended for a year for using banned substances before the fight against Haney.

In August, the former world champion announced his imminent return to the ring.
