The Curaçao national team have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in their history, but there had been some uncertainty regarding the coaching situation, which has now been resolved.
Details: the team is once again led by Dick Advocaat, who was also the one to guide them to this World Cup. According to Ben Jacobs, the Dutchman will be in charge of Curaçao at their first-ever World Cup appearance. Moreover, he will become the oldest head coach in World Cup history.
Advocaat replaces Fred Rutten, who stepped down after several players called for Dick’s return.
On May 30, Advocaat will face Scotland in a friendly at Hampden Park. Curaçao will then play at the World Cup against Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast.
Reminder: Roma’s 32-year-old forward and Argentina international was not included in Argentina’s preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
