On Sunday, December 28, Dubai will host an unusual tennis exhibition match between Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios. More than fifty years after the historic Battle of the Sexes—famously won by Billie Jean King—this match is more of a spectacle than a fierce sporting rivalry, serving as a showcase event rather than a chapter in tennis history.

World No. 1 Sabalenka comes into the match in excellent form, while Kyrgios, a former world No. 13, has played only five matches this season and is currently ranked 671st. Despite the gap in status and recent results, the Evolve agency decided to stage the event, branding it as the Battle of the Sexes to draw attention and place it alongside legendary tennis showdowns.

Sabalenka noted that this match is an intriguing challenge for her, and said that Dubai is the perfect venue for such an event thanks to its modern facilities, top-tier organization, and passionate fan support.

Nick Kyrgios claimed in an interview that he would win 6-2, but Sabalenka believes the Australian is overestimating himself.

There's some inside information that he's actually very nervous, and somewhere back in Australia, he's training hard right now. It's good that he's scared—that means it won't be 6-2. I think it'll be 6-4 in my favor,

she said.
