Manchester City has won the race for one of England’s brightest young football prospects. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Citizens have reached a full agreement with Leicester and Jeremy Monga himself.
As reported by the source, the total value of the transfer will be around £10 million. Manchester City managed to seal the deal after Arsenal’s lengthy negotiations with Leicester, but the London club ultimately failed to reach a final agreement.
It’s noted that City’s head coach Enzo Maresca played a key role in the negotiations. He personally presented Monga with the club’s long-term development project, which became one of the decisive factors in the youngster’s choice.
The 16-year-old winger is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in English football. Last season, he made 27 appearances in the Championship, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
