Here we go! Kazakh Messi heads to Burnley

Dastan Satpayev is moving to Burnley on loan from Chelsea.

Details: Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the deal with his trademark "here we go": the Clarets were eager to sign the Kazakh talent after Alleyne and got the green light from Chelsea this evening. The loan is without a buy option, so the forward will return to London in June 2027. The agreement is fully settled, as also reported by the BBC.

Satpayev's story is already one for the textbooks: Chelsea struck a deal with Kairat back in February 2025, when the player was just 16, paying around 4 million euros with bonuses—making him the most expensive export in Kazakhstan Premier League history. Just two days ago, on August 12, he celebrated his 18th birthday, officially became a Chelsea player on a contract through 2031, and is now taking his first steps into senior English football.

Back home, the youngster is dubbed the Kazakh Messi and compared to Agüero: at 15, he became the youngest debutant in Kairat's history, and recently scored the best goal of the Sydney Super Cup for Chelsea. At Burnley in the Championship, he'll get regular minutes—and for Kazakh football, this is truly a historic moment.
