Here we go! French club seals blockbuster transfer for Bundesliga defender
The BlueCo consortium continues to assemble some of the brightest young talents across Europe.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Strasbourg has reached an agreement with Werder Bremen for the transfer of 19-year-old center-back Karim Coulibaly. The deal is set at a fixed fee of €20 million, includes a sell-on clause, and excludes any additional bonuses.
The German left-footed defender, a youth international for Germany, is viewed by BlueCo—the owners of both Chelsea and Strasbourg—as a potential future superstar. The transfer negotiations were managed by Roc Nation Sports and Nochi Hamasor.
It's worth noting that in the 2025/26 season, Coulibaly made 27 Bundesliga appearances for Werder, scoring one goal and becoming the youngest player ever to score for the Bremen club in the German top flight. The respected portal Transfermarkt currently values the player at €28 million.
