After failing to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, Barcelona has successfully completed another transfer.
Insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that Dani Olmo is joining Barcelona. On Tuesday, August 6th, the sporting director of the Blaugrana met with representatives of the Spanish player. The negotiations were successful and concluded with a verbal agreement between the parties.
Barcelona will pay 55 million euros upfront, with an additional seven million in bonuses. The contract with Olmo is set for six years, until June 2030. Olmo is eager to move to Barcelona.
Dani Olmo began his football career at Espanyol's youth academy and joined Barcelona's academy at the age of nine. At 16, he moved to the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb. Last season, Olmo played 21 matches for Leipzig, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
We recently reported that RB Leipzig, the club that owns the Spaniard, insists on one simple condition: paying the necessary release clause.
