Here we go! Brighton sign a Real Madrid player!
Brighton have moved decisively on deadline day and are closing one of the final major deals of the window.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Brighton have reached a verbal agreement with Stuttgart to sign 21-year-old Spanish defensive midfielder Chema Andrés. The German club will receive a package worth €22 million and will also retain a sell-on clause. The footballer is already undergoing his medical ahead of the final formalities.
Real Madrid will also receive a significant payment from the transfer. Romano reports that the Spanish giants are due more than €11 million through the sell-on rights they retained when Chema moved to Stuttgart, while the new deal will end Madrid's remaining control over the player's future.
Chema left Real Madrid for Stuttgart in July 2025. The midfielder had joined the Madrid academy in 2018 at the age of 13 and progressed through the club's youth system before making his first-team debut in January 2025. He was also part of Spain's squad that won the European Under-19 Championship in 2024.
The move now gives the Spanish midfielder an opportunity to continue his development in the Premier League after just over a year in Germany. It is worth noting that Transfermarkt currently values Chema Andrés at €20 million, with its latest valuation update dated May 27, 2026.
