German champions Bayer Leverkusen are close to signing Girona midfielder Aleix García, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.
It is reported that a verbal agreement has been reached regarding the transfer between both clubs and the player himself.
The transfer will cost the "pharmacists" over €18 million. The player is set to undergo a medical examination this week, and if all goes well, he will sign a contract with his new club.
The 26-year-old García is the captain of Girona. He joined the Catalan club in 2021 from Eibar as a free agent.
In the past season, the midfielder participated in 40 matches across all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists. Transfermarkt values the player at €25 million.
It was previously reported that Girona's leader and La Liga's top scorer is set to continue his career at a top Spanish club.
