Barcelona could be facing legal troubles once again.

Details: According to Cadena Ser, Athletic's management is currently in Madrid, awaiting a meeting with representatives of the Spanish Football Federation regarding possible financial misconduct by Barcelona.

The Basque club claims that Barcelona is not complying with the "1:1" financial rule, which states that a club must spend only as much on signing players as it receives in income—whether through player sales or wage reductions.

Basque club president Jon Uriarte and CEO Jon Berasategi are prepared to take Barcelona to court directly if there is no evidence that the Blaugrana can pay the full amount for Nico Williams' transfer, whose release clause is set at 60 million euros.

Despite Nico having already informed his current team that he will no longer play for Athletic, the club's management has decided to hold on to the player at any cost—even through legal action, should Barcelona fail to prove their financial solvency.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already responded to the news as follows:

"I don't understand their reaction, with all due respect, everyone should mind their own business. I don't see why they intend to talk about Barcelona in La Liga. I don't think it's right, but they probably know what they're doing," Laporta stated.

The transfer saga involving Nico Williams' move to Barcelona has been ongoing for several weeks now—and it looks like things are only just heating up.

Reminder: Bayern has sent Nico Williams a new offer. What salary are the Bavarians proposing for the winger?
