Here to stay! Pochettino extends contract with US national team for a stunning term

Pochettino has decided to stay in the USA for the long haul.

Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new contract with the US men's national soccer team that will run until 2030. This means the coach will continue to lead the Americans and guide the team into the next major tournaments.

Pochettino took charge of the US national team in August 2024 and has already managed the squad at the 2026 home World Cup. At the tournament, the Americans reached the round of 16, where they fell to Belgium with a score of 1-4.

Previously, the Argentine's contract was reportedly worth around $6 million per year and was set to expire after the tournament. The new agreement, according to media reports, is for four years, meaning Pochettino will remain at the helm through the 2030 World Cup.

Fun fact: At the last World Cup, Pochettino ranked among the tournament's top three highest-paid managers, trailing only Brazil's Carlo Ancelotti and Germany's Julian Nagelsmann in salary.
