Arsenal legend Thierry Henry met and warmly conversed with his compatriot Kylian Mbappe before the match between the London club and Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. Later, he answered a question about what he talked about with Mbappe.
"Today Mbappe is playing against the team I love the most. I wish him no harm, but I told him: 'Please, I don't want to see you on the field today,'" Henry stated.
Well, it seems the Frenchman's wish came true — Mbappe failed to make an impact in the match, and Arsenal easily dismantled Real Madrid, winning by a resounding score of 3-0. After such a victory, the English side will head to the return leg in Madrid, which will take place on April 16, in high spirits.
It's worth noting that Henry is one of Arsenal's greatest legends, having played for the club from 1999 to 2007. During this time, the legendary forward participated in 337 matches, scoring 228 goals and providing 100 assists.
With the Gunners, Henry won the English Championship twice, reached the Champions League final, and became the Premier League's top scorer four times.
