Henrikh Mkhitaryan reveals the date of his retirement
The 36-year-old Inter midfielder has admitted that his current contract with the club will be the last of his football career.
Details: In a recent interview with La Repubblica, Henrikh Mkhitaryan stated that Inter will be the final club of his playing days. Mkhitaryan also made it clear that no amount of money from Saudi Arabia would make him change his mind:
"I love football for the game itself, not for the money. I don't want to lower my level and I have no intention of returning to play in Armenia," Mkhitaryan said.
Mkhitaryan joined Inter in 2022 from Roma as a free agent and has since made 146 appearances in the Nerazzurri shirt, establishing himself as a key player and a fan favorite.
Henrikh's current contract with Inter runs until 2026, but the player himself hopes to stay at the club for at least one more season:
"If they don't kick me out, I'll stay. I don't want to leave feeling like I finished too early," Henrikh admitted.
Last season, Mkhitaryan played 51 matches for the club, and he is now competing with the team at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
