Heading to Europe: Ime Okon to join Bundesliga 2 side

Ime Okon had been a sought-after prospect for several clubs in South Africa, but European teams were also monitoring his progress. Now, the player has chosen his next destination.
Details: SuperSport United centre-back Ime Okon will continue his career in Germany. Hannover have officially announced that the 21-year-old has signed a contract with the club. He has signed a four-year deal with the German club.
Quote: “I’m happy to sign with Hannover 96. I’m really excited about this challenge – playing in Germany. I’m looking forward to joining the club, becoming a better player, and growing as a person. I’d describe myself as a quick, reliable defender – I’ll try to make the most of these strengths from now on and help the team,” said Ime Okon.
While earlier reports suggested that Kaizer Chiefs were close to signing the centre-back, his contract officially expires on June 30, meaning the club is entitled to seek compensation from his next team.
