Manchester City's leading midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, remained on the bench for the first Champions League quarter-final match against Real Madrid.

Manager Pep Guardiola revealed the reason behind this decision. According to the coach, De Bruyne was supposed to start but experienced vomiting in the dressing room.

“He feels unwell. We made a meeting, he was ready, and when we arrived, in the locker room he started to vomit and he said that he is not ready” quotes Guardiola Favrizio Romano.

In the current season, the Belgian midfielder has scored 4 goals and provided 14 assists in 16 matches across all competitions. The 32-year-old playmaker missed a significant portion of the season due to injury.
