"He just knocked him out!" Wayne Bridge recalls a fight between former Chelsea teammates during training
Former Chelsea player Wayne Bridge recalled an intriguing moment from his time at the London club. The Englishman shared on The Dressing Room podcast about a fight between his teammates Andriy Shevchenko and Tal Ben-Haim during a training session.
Bridge explained that the Israeli player was quite rough in training, prompting Shevchenko to warn him, which Ben-Haim ignored. Following this, they got into a fight where the Ukrainian literally knocked out his opponent.
"They both basically ended up in each other's faces. And the combo Sheva threw. Unbelievable. It was something like a jab, cross, hook, cross. Bang, bang, bang, bang! Game over. Tal just had to swallow a bit of pride and move on. And just don't go near Sheva again!" Bridge recounted with admiration.
Let us remind you that Andriy Shevchenko played for Chelsea from 2006 to 2008 before returning to Milan. Although more was expected of him, he managed to score only 22 goals in 77 matches for the Blues.
Ben-Haim was at Chelsea for even less time—he spent only the 2007/08 season at the club, playing 23 matches, before moving to Manchester City.
