Former Italian footballer Antonio Iuliano, known for his performances for Napoli, has passed away.

On December 13, this was reported on the Neapolitan club’s page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

“This is one of the worst days in history for our team and our fans. Antonio Iuliano has been part of our team for two decades. Now he is gone. For those who didn’t know him, it’s worth telling who he was and what he represented for our city!” - they wrote on the Napoli page.

According to the Italian press, Iuliano passed away at the age of 80. In addition to Napoli, he managed to play for Bologna.

He is the Napoli record holder for the number of matches played. He has 502 games in all tournaments. After retiring from football, he remained as a manager.

It was under him that the club signed Diego Maradona. It should be noted that as part of the Italian national team, Iuliano is the 1968 European champion and a finalist at the 1970 World Cup.
