"He didn’t offend anyone!" Mark Guehi's father defends his son amid rainbow armband controversy
John Guehi, father of Crystal Palace captain Mark Guehi, has spoken out against the Football Association (FA) after his son faced scrutiny for wearing a rainbow captain’s armband with the phrase "I love Jesus" inscribed on it, reports Daily Mail.

John, a Christian pastor, expressed frustration that the FA raised concerns over his son's gesture while not addressing Ipswich captain Sam Morsy, a Muslim, who refused to wear the rainbow armband citing religious beliefs. John Guehi called this a case of double standards.
"I am saying did he offend anyone? I don't think so. I do believe in what the Bible says, Jesus loves everyone, and, in my opinion, Marc did not offend anyone with what he wrote," said John.
He further emphasized that while he opposes speech that is overtly offensive, individuals should be allowed to express their beliefs in a way that harms no one.
The FA has decided not to penalize Mark Guehi but has sent a letter to the player and Crystal Palace reminding them that religious messages are prohibited on football gear.
