In the Matchday 5 clash of the Champions League, Real Madrid are leading Greek side Olympiacos 4-3 as of the 85th minute, with Kylian Mbappé emerging as the driving force behind this result by netting his first-ever four-goal haul in the competition.
Details: In the 60th minute, Mbappé pushed the score to 4-2, becoming only the fourth Real Madrid player ever to score four goals in a single European match. Before him, only the following achieved this feat:
- Alfredo Di Stéfano (twice),
- Ferenc Puskás (twice),
- Cristiano Ronaldo (once)
- and now — Kylian Mbappé.
Moreover, Mbappé becomes the first Frenchman to net four in a Champions League match since Olivier Giroud did so for Chelsea against Sevilla in December 2020.
