He beat Argentina. Renard could be Saudi Arabia's head coach again

Yesterday, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation sacked Roberto Mancini from his role as head coach of the national team, and a potential successor has already emerged.

Details: According to Nicolò Schira, Saudi football officials are considering bringing back Frenchman Hervé Renard for the position.

It’s reported that Saudi leaders have already contacted Renard to discuss preliminary terms of a possible deal.

Renard previously managed Saudi Arabia from 2019 to 2023, guiding the "Desert Falcons" to a historic 2-1 victory over Argentina at the 2022 World Cup.

After leaving Saudi Arabia, Renard coached the French women’s national team but is currently without a role.

Reminder: Under Mancini, Saudi Arabia exited the 2024 Asian Cup in the Round of 16 and currently sits third in their group in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with five points from four matches.
