Harry Kane continues to break Bundesliga records
The twelfth round of the Bundesliga opened with the clash between the German champion, Bayern, and modest Cologne.
Harry Kane scored the sole goal in this match at the twentieth minute, propelling Bayern to claim the top spot in the German championship.
Kane's goal marked his eighteenth in the Bundesliga across twelve matches, thereby shattering two records within the German championship. Kane became the first player to score eighteen goals in the starting twelve matches, and also the first Englishman to accomplish such a feat within a Bundesliga season.
Apart from his remarkable goal tally, Kane also boasts five assists in the German championship, along with one goal in the Super Cup. Moreover, on four occasions, he disheartened opponents in the Champions League matches for the German side.
It's worth noting that Harry Kane moved to Bayern in the offseason from Tottenham for €100 million. The German club was in dire need of a striker following Lewandowski's departure to Barcelona last year. The Pole had consistently held the top position in the best scorers' list, except for two instances since the 2012/13 season. Kane's performances this season indicate his intent to replicate, or even surpass, Lewandowski's achievements.
