Tunisian international Hannibal Mejbri will miss the upcoming Eagles of Carthage training camp in Canada after suffering a hamstring injury.

The midfielder picked up the injury just 18 minutes into Burnley’s 3-1 defeat to Fulham on Saturday, forcing him off early in the game.

Burnley head coach Scott Parker confirmed the setback, explaining that Mejbri will remain in England to undergo treatment and recovery.

“Hopefully it’s not too bad, but at the moment it looks like a hamstring injury,” Parker said.

When asked about the possibility of the player joining the national team camp, Parker added that it is unlikely.

“I wouldn’t have thought so. The medical staff are assessing him now, so we’ll see how it develops.”
