Morocco national team head coach Walid Regragui has provided an update on Achraf Hakimi's condition after the defender suffered an injury during the fourth round of the Champions League clash between PSG and Bayern. To recap, the Parisian full-back was sidelined for around two months after a tough tackle from Bayern winger Luis Diaz.
Details: Despite the injury, the Moroccan coach expressed confidence that Hakimi will be able to join the national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.
"Achraf Hakimi will be with us at the Africa Cup of Nations—both on and off the pitch. If there is one player who can recover quickly, it's Hakimi. I'm confident, but we'll only put him on the field when he's 100% ready," said Regragui.
According to initial estimates, PSG hopes to have their defender back by mid-January, giving Hakimi a real chance to make Morocco's squad list for the tournament, which kicks off in mid-January 2026.
Hakimi is a key figure for the African side, having made 88 appearances and scored eleven goals for Morocco.
Reminder: PSG are looking to sign Crystal Palace defender Daniel Muñoz as a replacement for the injured Hakimi.
