Habib Beye tipped to become Senegal’s new head coach
The former Rennes and Marseille manager is reportedly one of the candidates being considered to replace Pape Thiaw, whose future is uncertain.
Pape Thiaw is not certain to remain in charge of the Senegal national team. The Senegalese manager is reported to have lost the confidence of the governing body of Senegalese football.
Following Senegal’s dramatic elimination in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup, Senegalese football officials are reportedly considering parting ways with Pape Thiaw. As such, the governing body is on the lookout for a successor, preferably of Senegalese origin.
According to reports in L’Equipe, Habib Beye is said to be among the options being considered by the Senegalese Football Federation. The former Senegalese defender recently stepped down from his role as manager at Marseille.
