Habib Beye equals a dismal 21-year-old record
It is one of the worst starts of the century at the helm of Marseille’s coaching staff.
Appointed Marseille manager last February, Habib Beye has made a start reminiscent of Jean Fernandez in 2005. The Senegalese tactician has recorded a rather dismal record. Beye has lost three of his first seven matches with the Marseille side. Before being beaten by AS Monaco on Sunday 5 April, Marseille had suffered two defeats against Brest on 20 February and Lille on 22 March.
This makes the Senegalese the first manager to lose three of his first seven matches at Marseille since 2005, according to Stats Foot. Before Habib Beye, Jean Fernandez was the first manager to suffer three defeats in his first four matches at the helm of Marseille’s coaching staff during the 2005–2006 season.
