Gusau Denies Row With Moroccan FA Boss
Nigeria Football Federation president Ibrahim Musa Gusau has dismissed reports claiming he had a confrontation with Moroccan president Fouzi Lekjaa after Nigeria’s semi-final loss in Rabat.
Reacting to social media stories, Gusau described the claims as untrue, insisting there was no clash.
“I really don’t know where the report is coming from,” he said, adding that “Nigeria and Morocco have cordial relationships in football and even at the level of government… I have had a good relationship with Mr Lekjaa.”
The NFF boss stressed that the alleged incident never happened and denied commenting on officiating before or after the match. He said he was “bemused” by suggestions of a match.
Despite debates over refereeing, Gusau praised the organisers, saying the NFF had “only praises for the Morocco Football Federation… the Confederation of African Football”.
