Guinea lodges a complaint with CAF regarding its match against South Africa in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
The Guinean Football Federation has expressed its concerns over the resurgence of xenophobic violence in South Africa.
With two months to go before the start of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, uncertainty already surrounds the match between South Africa and Guinea. Ahead of this fixture, scheduled for next September, the Guinean Football Federation has referred the matter to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to express its concerns regarding the security conditions surrounding the Guinean national team’s trip.
Guinea’s football governing body believes that the current situation does not provide all the necessary guarantees to ensure the smooth running of this match, which counts towards the first round of the qualifiers. It is now up to CAF to decide.
