Manchester City are preparing for the UEFA Champions League return leg, and the team’s manager was asked whether the players believe a comeback is possible.
Details: During the pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola was asked whether his team believes in overturning the deficit. According to the Spanish coach, he does not concern himself with that — if they do not believe, that is their problem.
Quote: If they don’t believe, that’s their problem. They are adults, they earn good salaries, they have their mums and dads, they are well educated. If they don’t believe, go home. Stay at home.
We have to try — what do we have to lose? Does anyone in this room believe in our comeback? Nobody, Guardiola said.
Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 3–0 in the first leg, and the return match will take place on Tuesday, 17 March, kicking off at 21:00 CET.
