Gremio will regain important pieces ahead of Sunday’s visit to Cruzeiro at Mineirão, in Matchday 13 of the 2025 Brasileirão. As reported by Correio do Povo, head coach Mano Menezes will likely have Walter Kannemann, Mathias Villasanti, and Martin Braithwaite back in contention after the trio returned to full training this week.
Kannemann was ruled out of the Recopa Gaúcha final at the last minute due to flu symptoms. Villasanti was rested with muscle soreness, while Braithwaite had been dealing with a right ankle knock picked up during the win over Juventude on June 1.
There are still doubts over Gustavo Cuéllar, who is completing his fitness recovery after a calf injury, and Cristian Olivera, who is nursing foot burns caused by a thermos spill. Meanwhile, Dodi is suspended due to yellow card accumulation, and Marlon is unavailable unless Grêmio pays Cruzeiro R$1.5 million — a fee the club has decided not to trigger.
