Grêmio Expecting Return of Four Starters for Match Against Ceará
Ahead of their second match in the Brazilian league, Grêmio manager Gustavo Quinteros is expected to bring back four key players to the starting lineup. As reported by Lance!, Edenílson, Camilo, Cristian Olivera, and Igor Serrote are likely to start against Ceará this Saturday, April 5, at the Castelão Stadium. All four began on the bench in the 2-1 win over Sportivo Luqueño in the Copa Sudamericana and were rested following the demanding league opener against Atlético Mineiro.
Speaking after the continental win, Quinteros clarified that the lineup changes were made due to physical strain and travel fatigue. “Surely, four players who didn’t start today will play on Saturday against Ceará. We monitored effort levels, GPS data, travel, and anticipated a tough game with many long balls,” the coach explained. He also praised Olivera and Edenílson for their second-half contributions, particularly in the buildup to Braithwaite’s winning goal.
However, the Danish forward’s presence is now uncertain. Braithwaite suffered an ankle sprain late in the game in Paraguay and is being evaluated ahead of the weekend fixture. His availability will likely be a game-time decision.
