Great start. Wirtz scored twice in a first half in his debut Champions League match

German champions Bayer Leverkusen have returned to the UEFA Champions League. In the first round, Xabi Alonso's team visited Feyenoord.

Already in the first half, the "Pharmacists" scored four unanswered goals, while Florian Wirtz scored a brace.

Notably, the star German midfielder scored his first goals in Europe’s most prestigious club tournament during his debut match. Prior to this, the 21-year-old Wirtz had never played in the Champions League.

It took Wirz 4 minutes and 37 seconds to put his name on the Champions League scorer's list on his debut in the tournament.

Only one German player took less time to make his debut as a scorer in the tournament: the great Andy Möller (who made his Champions League debut for Dortmund in 1995) needed just 37 seconds.
