GPL: The Reason Why Matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League Fixtures Was Postponed Has Been Officially Revealed
The Ghana Football Association has announced the postponement of Matchday 20 fixtures in the Ghana Premier League after the tragic death of Dominic Frimpong.
The decision comes in the wake of a shocking incident involving Berekum Chelsea, whose team bus was reportedly attacked by armed robbers while returning from Samreboi to Berekum. Frimpong, a forward for the club, lost his life during the attack, leaving the football community in mourning.
In an official statement, the GFA explained that the postponement is not only a mark of respect for the late striker but also aimed at giving Berekum Chelsea players and staff time to process the traumatic experience.
The association further confirmed that league action will resume with Matchday 31 fixtures scheduled to take place between May 1 and May 6.
