GPL: Asante Kotoko Coach Abdul Karim Zito Expresses Disappointment After Narrow Loss to Hohoe United
Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has voiced his frustration following the team’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Hohoe United in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
In a post-match interview, Zito was candid about his disappointment with the team’s performance, particularly in the first half. According to the coach, Kotoko’s tactical indiscipline played a key role in their defeat.
“To be serious with you, I’m disappointed with my boys, especially the first-half performance. I wasn’t happy at all. They had a good free kick, and it resulted in a goal. But I think we didn’t play well in the first half. We were tactically undisciplined,” Zito said.
“We didn’t do well in the first half, but we are still fighting.”
The loss leaves Asante Kotoko in fifth place on the Ghana Premier League table with 21 points, trailing league leaders Medeama Sporting Club by five points. Kotoko will now face Dreams FC this weekend at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
