GPL: Asante Coach Abdul Karim Zito Confident Ahead of Samartex Game

Asante head coach Abdul Karim Zito says he is confident his side can secure a positive result when they face Samartex on Matchday 11 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the Samartex Park in Tarkwa.

Speaking with AKSC media ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Coach Zito reiterated that his team remains focused on the winning mentality they set for themselves before the season began.

“We are going there (against Samartex) with the same mentality of winning because before the beginning of the league, we asked ourselves, ‘What do we need in the league?’ and we all gave positive answers of winning the league. Before you are declared a winner, you have to go through the process, so we will go there with the mentality of winning.”

The Asante boss believes his squad has what it takes to maintain their strong form and extend their unbeaten run.

“He said the team can do it. Whatever you plan for yourself, that is how you work toward those plans. So when you go away, you have two options—if you can’t win, you have to take a point.”

Kotoko head into this weekend fixture full of confidence, having gone unbeaten in their last five league matches. The Porcupine Warriors currently sit fifth on the Ghana Premier League table with 19 points from nine games, scoring 11 goals and conceding just four.
