Joshua Igaji, a Nigerian striker, has officially joined El Gouna FC of Egypt in an attempt to bolster their roster during the winter transfer window. Using pictures of the player sporting the team's jersey, the club verified the agreement on its official Facebook page.

Gouna’s Winter Transfers

Igaji is the fifth signing for Gouna this winter, following the arrivals of:

  • Marwan Mohsen (free transfer)
  • Abdallah Yassin (free transfer)
  • Mohamed El Nohas (from ENPPI)
  • Mohamed El Alami (from Suez National Team)

With this signing, Igaji becomes the sixth Nigerian player in Gouna’s squad this season, joining Favour Akem, Ojo Samuel, Shamsu Kabir, Obina Okoronkwo, and Taiwo Orbilai.

Gouna’s Struggles in the League

Gouna is struggling in the Egyptian Premier League, currently sitting 17th (second from last) in the standings with just 7 points. The team has also scored the fewest goals in the league—only 3 goals in 12 matches.

Upcoming Match

In an attempt to turn around their dismal recent performance, Gouna will take on Ismaily SC on Wednesday in Matchweek 13 of the Egyptian Premier League.
