Former football star Toni Kroos is making the most of his retirement by dedicating himself to noble causes. The German midfielder was honored with the Golden Heart award from the "Hearts for Children" foundation, Bild reports.

Kroos attended the event with his 11-year-old son, Leon. Both father and son actively contribute to charity: Toni donated €100,000 to the foundation, while young Leon generously gave €50 of his pocket money. What a commendable upbringing by Kroos!

"One day, he was watching Hearts for Children and saw a story from Africa about building football fields. He decided to donate his own €50. Moments like these make me feel like everything is heading in the right direction," Toni shared about Leon.

Kroos and his wife have long been involved in charitable work. The German established his own foundation in 2015 to support critically ill and underprivileged children. It’s no surprise that his efforts have been recognized with the Golden Heart award.

Toni Kroos retired from his illustrious career in the summer of 2024, immediately after playing his final match for the German national team at Euro 2024.
