Details: According to the Golden Boy official page, Toni Kroos was awarded the Golden Player Award at the Golden Boy 2024 event. This special accolade is decided by a council of legends. The organizers noted: "He retired at the peak, after winning it all last season!"
The Golden Player Award, presented by Tuttosport, recognizes the best footballer in Europe over the age of 21 who plays in Europe.
Notably, Toni Kroos announced his retirement from football after the conclusion of last season but hinted that he might return to collaborate with Real Madrid in the future.
Recently, Kroos also shared the circumstances under which he might not have retired. He expressed his love for tennis and mentioned trying his hand at the sport, adding that if he were a tennis player, he wouldn’t have retired yet.
Reminder: Recently, Kroos harshly criticized the referees for a mistake in his final match. He stated that it took UEFA nearly three months to understand what was immediately obvious to everyone.
