Going for a promotion. Fernando Torres has a new job
The legendary former striker Fernando Torres, who previously resigned as head coach of Atlético U-19, has secured a new position.
El Niño has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Atlético B, competing in Segunda B, the third tier of Spanish football.
Torres had previously stated that after his tenure with Atlético U-19, he aspired to commence his managerial career at the senior level. Many analysts hold Torres's coaching abilities in high regard, with some even considering him a potential successor to Diego Simeone when he eventually leaves Atlético.
Under Torres's leadership, Atlético U-19 became champions of Spain in their age category. In the final match, they defeated Betis 1-0.
Atlético Madrid B finished last season in 9th place in their Segunda B group.
