On Wednesday, December 18, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final took place in Doha, Qatar. Real Madrid faced off against Pachuca (Mexico).
From the outset, Real Madrid seized the initiative and sought to take an early lead. However, the Mexican side held firm defensively and attempted to exploit counterattacks. Despite their efforts, Pachuca couldn’t capitalize, while Real Madrid found their breakthrough.
In the 37th minute, Kylian Mbappé scored with an assist from Vinícius Jr., putting Madrid ahead. The score remained unchanged until halftime.
The second half started perfectly for Los Blancos. In the 53rd minute, Real doubled their lead. This time, Rodrygo found the back of the net, with Mbappé providing the assist. From then on, Madrid controlled the game, calmly managing the remainder of the match. Near the end, Vinícius Jr. scored a third goal in the 83rd minute to seal the result.
As a result, Real Madrid secured a convincing 3-0 victory and claimed the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. This triumph marks their fourth title of the season, following their La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup victories.
