Global frenzy. Nearly 2 million tickets already sold for the 2026 World Cup
The World Cup will, for the first time, be hosted across three countries—Canada, Mexico, and the United States—and, for the first time in history, will feature 48 teams. Previously, only 32 teams reached the final tournament.
Interest in the 2026 tournament has surpassed all the organizers’ expectations. According to The Athletic, nearly two million tickets have already been sold through the lottery system, setting a new record for FIFA tournaments.
Notably, ticket prices for group stage matches start at $60 and can go as high as $620. Tickets for the knockout stage and the final will be considerably more expensive, ranging from $2,030 to $6,730 for a seat in the stands.
